1. What is Jubensha?

It is an immersive experience. Each player role-plays a character and participates in a story. Typically an “NPC” (non-player character) is found dead as the story progresses, one of the players is the “murderer”. The goal is to find out who the “murderer” is. In some formats, players may be teamed up together to try to solve the mystery and identify the murderer, who may be an NPC.

2. How old do you have to be to play?

The recommended age to enjoy the experience is 16+. However, some games contain content with violence and sexuality would require a minimum age of 18.

3. How long does it take to play a session?

Time length varies depending on the specific game you choose. The average time per session is 3.5 to 5 hours. It is also labeled on the product page. 

4. Does all games require a host?

Currently, all games except "The Demise of the Pocket Knight" require an extra player to be the host. "Demise of the Pocket Knight" includes 2 manuals for players (with and without host). Other games come with a very detailed host manual which goes over step-by-step instructions on how to host the game. Absolutely no prior host experiences are needed! Hosting can be very fun as you get to see your friends solve the mystery with your help or at times struggle... Just make sure to not spoil the story beforehand! 

5. What is the difference between purchasing a game and playing a game in your store?

Ideally we would love everyone to come and visit the store to enjoy the most immersive experience with dedicated professional DMs. Also, there are more jubensha games available in store compared to the online shop either because  those are higher in difficulty, thus requiring more professional DM and NPCs. For some other games, we are only allowed to run them in-house at the discretion of the publisher.
